Christmas Sunshine in Naples, Florida – A Holiday to Remember
While much of the country was bundled up under blankets or snowed in, we were basking in 78-degree December sunshine along the shimmering Gulf Coast in Naples, Florida. Spending Christmas 2025 in Naples was a dream come true — a perfect blend of coastal relaxation, luxury, and a festive tropical twist.
Morning Bliss by Vanderbilt Beach
Our stay in a cozy condo just minutes from Vanderbilt Beach set the stage for lazy mornings and endless sea views. Each day started the same way — a peaceful walk along the sugar-white sands, watching gentle waves lap the shore as pelicans glided overhead.
After our walk, we wandered over to the Ritz-Carlton Naples, a beachfront jewel that perfectly captures Florida elegance. Coffee on their terrace, with the ocean breeze and morning light dancing on the water, quickly became our favorite ritual.
Christmas Eve at Gumbo Limbo
On Christmas Eve, we dined at Gumbo Limbo, the Ritz-Carlton’s relaxed yet upscale beachfront restaurant. The atmosphere was magical — tiki torches flickering, live music softly playing, and the Gulf sunset painting everything in gold and rose. The fresh seafood was outstanding (the grouper and key lime pie were unforgettable), and we toasted the evening feeling fully immersed in the Naples coastal lifestyle. With sand in our toes instead of muddy boots and wellingtons. Christmas was still apparent and as expected there were massive exquisitely decorated trees around every corner.
Christmas Day in Paradise
Instead of snowflakes and scarves, our Christmas Day brought blue skies, sun-soaked walks, and palms swaying in the breeze. We enjoyed a leisurely morning wandering through the Waterside Shops, an open-air luxury shopping destination where palm trees line the pathways between designer boutiques like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Lilly Pulitzer.
For lunch, we headed to Ocean Prime, where festive touches met the elegance of fine dining. Sitting outdoors in short sleeves on December 25th, savoring fresh seafood, steaks, and champagne, felt like the ultimate holiday treat.
Exploring Naples: Beyond the Beach
Naples may be known for its perfect beaches, but there’s so much more to explore:
Fifth Avenue South & Third Street South – Walkable downtown districts filled with boutique shops, art galleries, and vibrant dining terraces glowing with twinkling lights at night.
Naples Pier – A must-visit for sunset views and dolphin sightings, especially in the golden glow of early evening.
The Naples Botanical Garden – An oasis of tropical plants, walking trails, and peaceful water features. Over the holidays, it often hosts the spectacular “Night Lights in the Garden” event with festive illumination.
The Baker Museum and Artis–Naples – Perfect for a dose of culture with rotating art exhibits and live performances.
Tin City Waterfront Marketplace – A fun, retro collection of small shops and dockside eateries — a great place to grab a casual lunch or local souvenir.
A Perfect Christmas Destination or a Fabulous destination any time of year
Naples offers a rare blend of relaxed coastal beauty and refined charm. The people are friendly, the streets palm-lined and clean, and the entire city radiates a calm kind of luxury. Spending Christmas there felt both festive and restorative — a reminder that sometimes the best holidays are the sunniest ones.
As we packed up to leave, the idea of returning next winter didn’t feel like “maybe someday,” but definitely yes.
